To attack Columbus Day is to not see or understand the bigger picture.

That is, Columbus didn’t violate the “Indians” and lead to the taking of their land because:
(1) Nobody ultimately owns any unoccupied land (or ultimately owns anything for that matter, although if someone develops an area, that needs to be respected). We’re all on this planet temporarily and no one takes anything with them when they leave it.
(2) Even the Indians supposedly migrated here and therefore aren’t “native” Americans.
(3) This is a giant land that even the Indians only occupied a small part of (there still is plenty of room for expansion in North America) and Europeans needed a place to expand to. (Although I’m not sure that the expansion was always done fairly and ethically and with perfect motives … but there were many good motives too. And, there were even wars among the Indians. Europeans stepped into an already-existing fray.)
(4) But despite the sociological flaws of all involved, Indians too have benefited from the advancements brought by the Europeans. Far more grievous was slavery. But even regarding that, Africans didn’t choose to go back to Africa once they gained their freedom … probably due to wanting to enjoy the greater technological advancements that are more prevalent here than in Africa.

Therefore, everybody (Indian migrators, African descendants, European descendants, etc.) need to stop complaining and get on with being contributors (not detractors) to a peaceful, harmonious coexistence.

A left wing tactic is to try to brand people on the right as extremists and religious fanatics. But THE ACTUAL TRUTH IS we are the sane and good ones and THEY are the PROMOTERS OF SIN. But instead of going back and forth with name-calling as to who the bad guys are, that NEEDS to be PROVEN … which I do in my book The Plague Of Liberalism (which can be seen here).

The more informed a person becomes, the better they are able to present and defend their positions. And informed individuals are NEEDED now to counter the liberal wave that has been taking over this country. The Plague Of Liberalism helps people become more informed by PROVING that liberalism and its positions are anti-nature, anti-God, based on lies, and are continually hurting this country and its citizens … and that Bible values are emotional, psychological and spiritual health-causing.

In 1897 an eight year old girl wrote to the editor of the New York Sun and asked if there really was a Santa Claus. The editor wrote an editorial in response, which has become the most reprinted editorial of all time.

Today, many are asking an even bigger question, not whether there is a Santa Claus but is there a God? And does that God care about us?

Christmas (and all that Jesus went through) is PROOF that the almighty creator of the universe actually cares about us and that we’re important to Him. And if that is true, that is surely something worth celebrating. That’s what Christmas was meant to celebrate.

But of course, in order to accept that PROOF, it is dependent on proof that the first Christmas really happened, and proof that it was as the Bible says: God coming to Earth in human form. You can see part of the proof of both of those things at http://dennismarcellino.wordpress.com. You can see all of that proof in the links listed below. Therefore, a modern day answer would be: Yes, Virginia, there really is a God!

So then the question becomes: do we care about God and what’s important to Him? Is He important to us, as we are to Him? That’s why proof is important … to make God real to us, and to lead us to understand Him. Do you dwell on these things at Christmas time?

My DVD, 10 Conclusive Proofs That God Exists And The Bible Is True, and upcoming book of the same title (in early 2009) give proof that God exists and that all that the Bible says is true. Why Are We Here? and its Workbook also give proof, as well as an understanding of God and this life. And all of what is in those books is backed by science. There is no opinion or speculation.

The DVD and books can be purchased at www.UltimateTruths.com/orderform.html. More about Why Are We Here? can be seen at www.Why-Are-We-Here.org.

I have a special tradition every year at Christmas time that when I make out my Christmas cards and wrap my presents I listen to a very special CD called “Christmas” by “The Singers Unlimited” and a Christmas CD that I have out called “The Spirit Of Christmas”. As I was listening to the Singers Unlimited CD today a very special feeling came over me … it is the same special feeling that I always get when listening to those CDs. But this time it hit me as to why that special feeling happens. It’s because I’m listening to RELIGIOUS carols. You don’t hear carols a lot anymore like when I was growing up in the fifties. Yet, at Christmas time they were the basic songs of TV and radio and stores and that we sang and played in the band at even public schools. But since then the Christmas music first morphed into primarily snow and Santa type songs, and then into songs with a modern musical tone (which is devoid of the sacred feeling of carols). Then I remembered that for many years I often reflected on what was the most special feeling in my heart from throughout my life. (I’m sure we each have one of those). And I remembered that it was when I was in Catholic school in the 2nd and 3rd grades in the middle fifties and we had a large nativity scene in our courtyard. I would stare at that scene and get a VERY special feeling … of beauty and love. Perhaps it was a foretelling of how religion would eventually become the most special thing in my life. But what made it all the more special at the time was that the society in general was having the same experience. Now it’s different. How could anyone be so hard hearted as to want to have nativity scenes legally banned? And religious carols are very rarely heard in public or on TV or on the radio anymore. The true meaning of Christmas is no longer “mainstream”. Christmas has been hijacked by presents and sports and a secular feel. It’s too bad that young people don’t get to experience the great amount of love that was in the public air and in the hearts of people in the fifties when Christmas was closer to its true meaning. Still, many people still say that Christmas is the most special time of year. I wonder if they realize just how much more special it could be, and how that special feeling is a gift from God.

(10) Because of Him there are many ongoing churches and organizations to plug into for holy fellowship, education, ministry and worship (among the lesser options on Earth).

First let me quote what Dennis Miller said on Bill O’Reilly’s show on why he likes Sarah Palin, “She’s normal, she’s happy to be normal, and she makes me happy to be normal.”

I add to that, “Her values are my values … Biblical values. And those are what I want to see represented in government more than anything else.”

Because POLItics (and therefore POLIcies) emanate out of the VALUES of people.

But now, with the results of this election giving the final word to the democrats in every branch of federal government, a great flaw in our political system is exposed. That is, where is the representation for the 48% of the population who voted for McCain/Palin? The final say should have 48% Republican influence and 52% democrat influence. (But there is even a flaw built into that … how many of those who voted for democrats were hoodwinked by a liberal media who was selective in their reporting by inventing gaffs for Palin [clothes, Africa, etc.] and not putting a spotlight on the gaffs by Obama [57 out of 58 states] or Biden [FDR on TV in 1929]). Like Sean Hannity says, “Journalism is dead in this country”. And I add to that, “So is intelligence”. www.ThePlagueOfLiberalism.com.

Why are many gays so angry? Why can’t they just civilly and intelligently make their case?

First of all, I would suggest not trying to talk gays out of their anger. Yes, if their anger spills over into violence, they should be dealt with like any other citizen whose anger spills over into violence … regardless of any reason why a person might become angry in life.

But it is good to understand the roots of gay anger. Gays are basically angry because of the fact that they ended up “gay” and they are angry at who caused them to end up in this condition (a condition that the American Psychiatric Association up until 1972 called a psychological disease). That could be: their mother, their father, mean kids at school, a rejection by the opposite sex, the unnatural standards of masculinity and femininity in society, etc.

Now they try to ground that anger on anything that stands in the way of them living the lifestyle that they’ve chosen or feel forced to live. That primarily now includes the Bible, the Mormon church, and Christians in general.

Also, gays will always fight for social acceptance because deep down they don’t accept themselves. And they don’t have peace in presenting and defending their position because their lifestyle is indefensible by nature’s standards (and “nature” is where peace comes from).

What about the anger of gay supporters that you often see in protests? They have their own issues, usually having to do with authority and (what I call in my book, The Plague Of Liberalism) “freedom addiction”.

Gays don’t want to be judged or preached at … which is how they view any attempt to have the Bible presented to them. This is unfortunate because that shuts them off to the only solution to their problem, because the Bible gives them a way out, as it has so many already. They want to be free to live the gay lifestyle and ground their sexuality and romance that way or are even addicted to sex. But they go too far when they ask for society to validate that lifestyle. God has destroyed societies for that very lifestyle being legitimized. And God’s creation (nature) is hostile to that lifestyle via the creation of AIDS and other STDs. That’s just a plain, observable fact that can’t be attributed to or blamed on any human being or institution.

If people want to experiment with this dangerous lifestyle, that’s their business. But they shouldn’t ask society to legitimize it, no more than society should legitimize any other dangerous lifestyle, let alone bless it with the legitimacy of “marriage”, which would bring a danger upon us all, given God’s history around this issue. (Notice how Katrina happened right before a large gay parade was scheduled in New Orleans, and also in an area where another societal ill is: casinos).

But “gays” are people first. And we should have compassion on anyone who is having a problem in this life. And if we know a way out, we have an obligation to show the way out. My suggestion to someone who is having a problem with homosexuality would be to do a web search for the many organizations and books by ex gays that offer help with this. Don’t brand yourself as “gay”, but rather, see yourself as just a person who is having a problem with something in life (which is the case for most people on some level), and know that there is a solution to your problem. It might feel good to “belong” to a movement, or it might feel good to find “acceptance” at a local gay bar, but a big issue then becomes: are you finding acceptance by God in your heart? Trying to sweep under the rug God’s lack of acceptance is the reason why alcohol and drugs are a big part of gay life. (But that is also true for a lot of people who are trying to “belong” and fit in and receive “acceptance” with individuals or groups they are in whose ways aren’t receiving peace in their heart from God). You won’t get the solution to your problem perhaps by listening to Christians or Christian churches who don’t know how to articulate the solution well, or from a Godless mainstream psychology community. But it does exist. There are many testimonies to that fact. My offering in that way can be seen at: www.Why-Are-We-Here.org. God bless and good luck

It’s funny (well, not comically funny) how people constantly seek security in things and plans and relationships. For example: a college education (yet many college grads don’t work in the occupation of their degree), investments (which sometimes fail), hobbies and money (and you can’t take them with you), and relationships will often abandon you or disappoint you. But none of these are permanent and therefore these things and plans and relationships aren’t ultimately secure. (And like I’ve pointed out, often are only temporarily secure for a short time). They all will vanish at one point.

Yet people get so absorbed in these things that their life loses focus on and inclusion of what it was MADE for and what DOES bring ultimate security – a relationship with their creator that is based in heart, mind and the actions of their life. The heart hears, pays attention to, and obeys God’s Spirit. The mind seeks, dwells on and understands God’s ways and desires for their inner and outer life. And the will has as its primary life project to perfect our being and spread God and His perfection and plan. So, based on this understanding, the actions of our life are directed.

But the actions of most lives have been to seek security (while even feeling like that security is permanent), to survive, and to seek pleasure. And God says in the Bible that we don’t have to worry about any of those things. He says to just seek His Kingdom and ways and all the things that we need will be added to our life. (I accepted that promise 26 years ago and it has never failed me.)

But for most lives now, God has been squeezed out of the equation. This is a lot like a car refusing to travel and carry passengers, not recognizing that those are the things it was MADE for. We didn’t make ourselves. Nor will be able to stop our physical existence from ending. Where is the security in that?

Where then is the ultimate meaning in investments and accumulations and relationships and routines? Obviously, there is none, except in whether we are approaching them through God’s perfect ways. That’s why I said “It’s funny”.

It’s obviously not comically funny, but rather it is puzzling how people come to ignore their creator, and how their creator’s intended purpose for their lives and why He created them becomes unimportant, or at least very low on their list of priorities. The priorities that become high on their list are physical survival and pleasures. And that’s a shame, because they’ve (and maybe unknowingly) traded in a perfect God for an imperfect world. But God wants them in His perfect world (Heaven) and therefore will knock on the door of their heart … and leave an unfulfilled void in them … and raise up messengers like me who will answer His call to communicate what is true, what is truly important, and why He is ultimately not only critically important, but perfectly good.

I look back over my 60 years of living on this planet often now, and the one thing that strikes me the most is: how I had some GREAT things and circumstances in my life, and how I didn’t appreciate them at the time. Why? Because I didn’t have my priorities right and had yet to fulfill the ultimate purpose of my life (which is the same ultimate purpose of every life), which is: to come to know God, have a relationship with Him, serve Him, be in union with Him, live my life through Him … and when my days are over, have an eternity with Him in the perfect Heaven He has created.

I write now in hopes of helping others see the most important priority. And as we each stand for that, we automatically help others to merge with that in themselves. Because we as humans are very sheep-like creatures who want to get along with our environment. And because of that, we are too prone to bending to get along. But unfortunately, the environment has very little understanding of or union with God. Therefore when we bend for the sake of getting along and a feeling of belonging, we often bend in the wrong direction. So because the world is off in many ways, and because God is far from most people, we often have to find Him on our own. A church can help, but still it is good to find Him on our own. That’s why I wrote Why Are We Here? and its Workbook … to show people how to do that. Because, once a person has accomplished how to know God in mind, in spirit and in heart, they are (as the Bible says) “free indeed”. And as they get good at those skills, they become immune from being confused or swayed by anyone. In fact, they become swayers themselves … but in a good direction. And the world badly needs that. But these are skills that just don’t automatically get picked up in church. They must be learned. And Why Are We Here? and its Workbook teaches those skills. (Those books can be seen at www.Why-Are-We-Here.org).

I saw Palin give a speech this morning on the energy problem (and solutions) that was far more eloquent and substantive than anything I’ve ever heard Obama or Biden give. I still don’t see how the terms eloquent and charismatic have ever been attached to Obama. And totally insulting is how the “intelligent” brand has been attributed to the wrong side. It can be frustrating to observe the American public being duped and gullibly falling for empty sound bites. An evaluation of Obama and all the democrats is that on the “positive” side there are no positives, just empty rhetoric and promises that can’t be kept. On the negative side are also “attacks without substance”, which usually just amount to name calling (e.g. calling McCain “George Bush” and calling Palin “a drag on the ticket”). The exact thing that the democrats claim (intelligence) is the exact thing that isn’t on their side. This is a definite flaw in the system … that leaders can be conned into office, through trickery and manipulation of opinions through a biased, psychologically/emotionally/spiritually/intellectually immature and even evil media, instead of who is the most qualified for the job. It is frustrating to watch the huge lack of objectivity by the media in evaluating the candidates, as they give a pass to things that the democrats do … things that they would create giant uproars over if the Republicans did them. And this latest thing in Ohio where the democrat Secretary of State is allowing the homeless (who are told to vote for Obama) to vote because they can give park benches as their home address … if it wasn’t so sickening (and even criminal in intent) it would be laughable. But this even falls into Twilight Zone territory.

Liberals don’t really care about blacks or women. If they did they would have applauded the ground-breaking appointments of Clarence Thomas, Alan Keyes and Condaleeza Rice. But they didn’t. They attacked them … as they do such an accomplished woman as Sarah Palin. So then, what do liberals care about? As I prove in my book The Plague Of Liberalism, they only care about grounding their personal inner angst about life itself. And, as an ex-liberal myself, I found out that that angst comes from having a secular, freedom-at-any-cost world view. But internal human nature doesn’t reward that view with good feelings of peace and security. Therefore they experience what St. Augustine said, “Our hearts are restless until they rest in thee”. So with the discomfort of those restless hearts, liberals have used blacks and women to spread their angst in psychodramas in the mainstream, hoping that if they create more freedoms they personally will feel free inside. But my attempt to solve that problem within me, (which took me through 20 approaches to lifestyle, truth, problem solving and personal growth), found that the only way to get freedom is to get in harmony with how our being was designed to work. And that means, getting in harmony with the designer. And that can only happen through obedience to the specifics of His design, which are found in the Bible. But liberals have worked hard to discredit the Bible and have any mention of it removed from the mainstream. Therefore, liberalism is a cancer on the society, and it probably won’t end until there’s a religious revival in this nation and liberals discover that the freedom they’ve been seeking in all the wrong places can only be find in making peace with God … but on His terms, not theirs. And those terms are found in the Bible.
